Getting Started

How do I become a traveler?

The first step is to fill out an application. The second is to contact a RSI Medical Staffing Recruiting Consultant at 1-866-723-7823 and discuss open positions. Once we have reviewed your information, the next step is the interview! (Yes it is that easy!)

Can you find a job for me in any particular city?
  • RSI Medical Staffing has available positions nationwide in a variety of settings and modalities. Facility needs change on a daily basis and if you don’t see the ideal location for you, contact your Placement Consultant and he/she will work for you to find the position you are looking for.
  • RSI has local jobs for techs that want to stay close to home.
  • RSI offers permanent positions for techs that know exactly where they would like to go.
  • RSI offers full time traveler positions for those of you looking to adventure out and see the country.

Do I have to sign an exclusive year contract?

With RSI Medical Staffing you control your own career. We do not believe in putting restrictions on our employees and we want to earn your trust and loyalty, not demand it. That is the freedom of traveling.

Am I able to bring my family on assignment with me?

We encourage you to bring your family on assignments. RSI Medical Staffing understands that sometimes having your family with you can make an “OK” assignment an “Exceptional” assignment. RSI provides quality corporate housing options that are flexible to meet your needs. RSI has many options available. Please contact one of our Recruiting Consultants for details.

How do I contact my Healthcare Placement Consultant?

Most travelers know what it is like to try reaching their recruiter on the phone, only to get voicemail. Once you accept an assignment with RSI Medical Staffing, you will receive your Placement Consultant’s cell phone number. You will receive true service at the touch of a button, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It doesn’t matter what time zone you are working in, you will have peace of mind knowing that once you dial, you are going to talk to the person that cares the most about you and your assignment, not an answering service "passing on" messages when it is convenient.

Travel & Housing

Do I have to live with another person while on Assignment?

No. RSI Medical Staffing offers free private housing. The only time you would incur a cost is for a second bedroom for family members that are traveling with you, or if there is a pet deposit involved.

Do you offer rental cars while on assignment?

Yes, we provide quality rental cars from several nationwide carriers.

Where will I live?

We spend a lot of time making sure your home away from home is comfortable and convenient to your job.

If I choose to take my own housing, how much will my subsidy be?

The subsidy amount depends on the area's cost of living. For example: The San Francisco cost of living would be more than in Selma, Alabama. After you accept an RSI Medical Staffing assignment, you will be assigned a housing specialist that will be personally handling all travel and relocation procedures. Your Placement Consultant will have direct involvement during the entire process to ensure the travel and housing arrangements are what you are looking for.

When living in housing provided by RSI Medical Staffing, are my personal items insured?

Unfortunately not, but most insurance companies offer short-term renters' policies that will cover your personal belongings in any rental property. See your personal insurance agent for details.

Healthcare Assignments

Where do you offer assignments?

We offer positions from coast-to-coast. From Maine to California, Alaska to Florida, our goal is to find you the right assignment of your choice. We will provide information about the area, activities, etc., so you can make an informed decision. We don’t believe in “selling” you into a position. We believe in becoming a partner in your career.

What is the typical assignment length?

RSI Medical Staffing assignments range from 2 weeks to a year, with the average assignment length being around 13 weeks. Your Placement Consultant is always willing to discuss the assignment length anytime you are looking for a new position.

When am I eligible to hear about positions RSI Medical Staffing has available for me?

Upon completion of all the required paperwork you will be eligible to hear about specific positions we have to offer.

If I enjoy my assignment, would I be able to become a permanent employee of the hospital?

Depending on your work performance, you will have the option to go permanent. This is when your Placement Consultant will switch roles and help you negotiate the best benefits package available.
